Floral Friday ~ Delphinium
One of nature’s fewest true blue flowers, Delphinium indeed makes a statement. In England, they are called “Queen of the Border” since they have been masterfully bred for over 130 years and stand out in border gardens.
Delphinium received their name from the ancient Greeks who thought the shape of the flower bud resembled that of a dolphin or delphis.
Most delphinium varieties are available year-round and can be found in white, pink (lavender), light blue, electric blue, dark blue and purple.
